Who we are:

About us

Shop owner Christine Thorne Slader and her hubby Christian Slader have lovingly renovated and restyled a vintage 1959 Garwood camper "BIRDIE". They use it for camping and to bring their goods to Vintage Fairs and local events for a pop up shop.  It is parked at  Christine and Christian's coastal village home in southern Maine.

"All my life (60 yrs young) I have yearned to own my own shop. As a child I would rake leaves into rooms with doors and set up goods inside the leafy walls  for my friends to shop".... but busy with family (raising two now adult sons Alex and Wilson) and full time careers (early childhood educators ) didn't leave much time for being a shop owner. Now we are retired and empty nesters so it is time to spread our wings .  Our mutual friends Becky and Chris  owned the camper "BIRDIE" but hadn't used it for years . While having  dinner together on Littlejohn Island where "BIRDIE" was resting we hatched a plan ! With the shake of a hand we became co-owners  of Birdie . Christian began the much needed restoration  and Christine began nesting . Fluttering about thrift stores, estates, barns and yard sales she gathered the inventory for her mobile shop . Months of dreaming , redoing, inventing and learning (by the seat of our vintage pants) we are launching our canned ham of collectibles ...BOHO BIRDIE.
